Who is Hobbesx?Hobbesx is a poster on various forums across the internet. He has, to date, more than 10,000 posts on Forumplanet, and is starting to post more frequently on other forums.
The History of Hobbesx:In September of 2005, Hobbes entered the forum world at PlanetTheSims, using the username "irishfool". His first post:
This is his first post. He later corrected it grammar wise, which is where the "let us correct this" comes into play.
For about three months after his sign up with PlanetTheSims (PTS), Hobbes was very boring. He mainly posted in the Word Association thread, and was very laid back. Later, however, he saw on the news feed something that went like this:
PlanetTheMovies has opened for business! Come on over there and have a chat, and tell them we sent you!
Hobbes, who had been very eagerly awaiting the release of that game, instantly joined the forums. It was then and there that he opened up. He grew attached to the community, and became good friends with many of the users. The moderators were friendly, and even though the administrator was a little strict, he was still a good, nice, genuine guy. Hobbes forgot all about PTS, and soon his forum days were all about PlanetTheMovies.
Then, The Movies was released. The game got okay reviews, not great, but not bad. The community over at PlanetTheMovies seemed to be happy with the game, and many discussions were about their movies, and it was a fun time watching everybody's movies that they had made. But suddenly, people stopped posting. This made Hobbes, who was calling himself AmericanFool at the time, terribly upset, and before he knew it, one of his favorite posters over at PlanetTheMovies, Ordigtroll, was starting to post less and less. In a desperate attempt to revive the forums, Hobbes made the 1000 post thread. Though the thread was partially successful, and is actually still active to this date, the goal of it failed, and PlanetTheMovies is now dead.
AmericanFool, mourning the loss of PlanetTheMovies, decided to pack up his things and move on back to PlanetTheSims. After all, he was a big fan of the game, and was eager to join a new community. When he returned, things were a little bit different. A new user by the name of Sugah Sim had come into the picture, and she had become moderator very, VERY fast. Almost too fast. When AmericanFool had previously posted there, the forums were kind of slow, but now they were picking up, and AmericanFool entered before the storm hit. Sugah Sim was very good at keeping new members, and though not that many came, the era of PlanetTheSims entered was very successful. The were not many users, but the users that did post posted often, and it was a very tight group. Among AmericanFool and Sugah Sim, there was Wulfpaw248, Sharrakor, MLEK, LufiaGuy (the administrator), Aeral Fairy, Bwinney Bunny, and a few others here and there.
Hobbes became the comic relief of the bunch, and became known as a "goofball" by Sugah Sim. He later changed his username to Hobbes. Sugah Sim often worried that Hobbes would go too far, and often times he would, and annoy people, but just when they thought that they couldn't handle him anymore, and that they were going to strangle him, he would tone it down for a few days, only to come back more obnoxious than ever. He kept the forum on its heels, and it was a good time.
Among many of his silly antics were, for one week, he changed his username to "Sasha", an African-American Bratz doll, and pretended to be a girl's doll. He also changed his username to other people's names. For example, he pretended to be Sharrakor for a couple of days, acting like him, taking up his charcteristics. It was all in good fun, and generally Hobbes was a liked member.
Meanwhile, Sharrakor created the forum,
Fundog, a forum about Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, role playing, and more. Sharrakor and his friends made it a good place to be, and Hobbes joined as AmericanFool. Sugah posted for a little bit, but left after about six months. Fundog was a fun forum, and there were many discussions about Harry Potter, whether or not the movies lived up to the books. AmericanFool was also kind of clown there, but there was another clown there, by the username as Lord Berethor. AmericanFool and Lord Berethor got along just fine though, and often took playful swipes at each other, always trying to "one up" the other user.
Hobbes was enjoying his time between these two forums, and his forum life was at its highest moment. Then, disaster struck.
